DOVER ELEVATORS
DOOR TRACKS
Pretty much all Dover door tracks look identical. Dover Elevators with Traditional, Impulse, and sometimes even black button have the same style door track. The example on the left was found on a Traditional while the one on the right was an Impulse.
HOISTWAY DOORS
Dover hoistway doors have very thin edges that cut off right before the top. Most installations follow this style. In the pictures below, the left is a former Traditional while the right is a former Impulse. Both look identical.
CAR DOORS
Dover Elevators with center-opening doors have grooves/notches on the car doors. In the examples below, the left shows a closed door. The example on the right is a closeup of the notch when the doors are open.
DOOR EQUIPMENT/HOISTWAY COLOR
Dover Elevators have very easily identifiable colors in their hoistways. Traditional models have a turquoise color that is very similar to the color that United States used.
Impulse models have a darker blue color. This shade is known in the community as "Dover Blue."
CAB CHARACTERISTICS
Older Dover Elevators with single-slide doors have this "extra" section on the side that the doors close into.
NOTE: These can only be found on old Dover Elevators with black buttons.

OTHER ELEMENTS
Dover hoistway door frame braille plates look like the examples below. They are fairly easy to identify.
(LEFT) Original braille commonly found on Traditional models.
(RIGHT) Braille that can be found on all Impulse models. They are completely silver squares.

(LEFT) Dover optical eyes can be found on the car door frame. Even if they have been replaced with new multi-
beam sensors, the holes are usually still there. NOTE: You can only see these on single-slide applications.
(RIGHT) Older Dover Traditional models sometimes had hanging directional lanterns. During modernization,
these are sometimes kept or removed. Below shows the previous location of one of these lanterns.
