OTIS ELEVATORS
Unlike other elevator companies, OTIS Elevators have many different types of doors and door tracks.
LEXAN
DOOR TRACKS/DOORS
There are two types of door tracks on OTIS "Lexan" models. The logos can distinguish the age.

DOOR EQUIPMENT
OTIS Elevator interlocks are very easily identifiable. They are skinny and have a lip at the edge, usually the right-hand side. Below are two examples of OTIS interlocks from different models. Most OTIS Elevators, new and old, have the exact same interlock.
CAB CHARACTERISTICS/OTHER
OTIS Lexans usually had very distinctive ceiling light covers. They are rectangles with curvy sides and can be found on almost every Lexan. OTIS Lexans also usually had door frame mounted call stations. This was common on singular elevators more than sets of two, although those too sometimes have door frame call stations. In the example below, you can see an Innovation call station slapped on the door frame over the original one.
SERIES 1
DOOR TRACKS/DOORS
The Series 1 model was manufactured from the 1980s up until about 2010. The door tracks have this specific OTIS logo on them, although not all will have logos. The door track extends from underneath the doors into the cab (right up to the car door frame). The edges of the hoistway doors are thin strips of metal that are usually very "floppy."
DOOR EQUIPMENT
Newer OTIS door interlocks look like the one pictured. Most of them will have a sticker underneath which contains an OTIS logo and a test date. If the test date year is around the late 90s/early 2000s, the elevator could very well have been a Series 1. The "beak" of the door interlock is usually black and the door hangers will look similar to the one pictured.
SERIES 4
DOOR TRACKS
The logo on the door tracks of Series 4 OTIS elevators will look very similar to the logo on some Series 1 elevators. However, the font of these letters are a bit thinner (not "bold"). Other than the difference in the logos, the door tracks are completely identical. The door track extends from underneath the doors into the cab (right up to the car door frame).
DOORS
The majority of Series 4 OTIS doors look like these. Single-slide and center-opening doors will usually look identical or similar to the pictures shown. Take note of the hoistway door edges. Unlike the thin edges found on Series 1 models, these edges are thick and are coated in black paint. Most newer OTIS elevator doors have this design.
